How exciting ­­– this is Heritage’s 50th year! I am so blessed to be a part of it. For those of you I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Jennifer Gonzales and I work in the Heritage Business Office. Over the last 11 years I have served in Christian schools. While my duties at Heritage range from helping students in the front office to assisting staff with different needs, my primary responsibility is to provide support for you with your student account. Whenever you have a question, feel free to call me using my direct line (661-871-4761). If you would like to adjust your account in any way or make a payment, stop by the Heritage Business Office window between 7:30am and 3:30pm and I (along with Irma Garcia) will be happy to help you. If you need any other support with your student account, please email me at jgonzales@hacademy.org and I will respond as soon as possible. In addition to my work in the Heritage Business Office, I will be coming alongside the Parent Support Group (PSG) to run Drive Thru Dinners and I also will have the fun honor of being the Cheer Coach this school year. I used to run cheer for the City of Whittier from 2005 to 2007, so I cannot wait to start working with the girls at Heritage! As I look forward to all that God has planned for the upcoming school year, I am grateful beyond words for how much Heritage has been a blessing to my family. It is funny how after working at Heritage for over two years there are still several people who do not know that Mr. Mike (Heritage Maintenance Department Manager) is my husband! It is such a blessing to serve alongside him and have our children attend as students. Our oldest daughter, Bella, will be in 5th grade this school year and our youngest daughter, Klarisa, will be in 2nd grade. From one Heritage parent to another, please know that I am here to serve you, your student(s) and I pray for God’s blessing upon your lives!

Hello Heritage family, my name is Irma Garcia. I am the Business Office Assistant and new Afterschool Program Coordinator for the 2016-2017 school year. I started at Heritage two years ago and it has been quite a journey. I remember praying and hoping during the summer of 2014 that God would allow me to be in a place where I can serve Him and invest in the lives of students.   My journey began as a Heritage Aide, keeping students safe on the playground and equipping them for life circumstances. In the same year I also interned in the Heritage Business Office assisting Jennifer Gonzales with daily tasks so I could grow vocationally and serve families directly. Following this I requested at the end of last school year to be able to take on the role of the new Afterschool Program Coordinator – something I am very passionate about! I am excited to start the 2016-2017 school year with our theme ANCHORED IN HOPE. I look forward to planning activities for the Afterschool Program that will enrich students spiritually, academically, physically and emotionally. Heritage has become my second family, standing alongside me to celebrate my successes and pray with me during times of need. My prayer for the upcoming school year is to be anchored in hope in all that we do, which comes from God as we serve families with excellence.

When I started last year at Heritage I had no idea how God would bless me. Students welcomed me to their school with smiles and laughter. Parents encouraged me throughout the school year and helped me learn the ropes. Staff offered me grace in my mistakes and gratitude in my victories. As a new school year begins I am confident that God has placed me right where He desires me to serve. There will be new responsibilities along with my existing ones. I still get to oversee and manage our online student information system, RenWeb, so if you’re having any difficulties give me a call! I am also excited because this year I get to help with student activities. I will be the one to ensure you get notifications in a timely manner about awards and I look forward to celebrating the academic achievements of your child. I will also be coordinating field trips and our incentive programs. Your child’s backpack is going to be extra bright and colorful over the next few months as fliers go home about everything from Picture Day to Awards Assemblies. God has amazing things in store for us in the 50th year of Heritage Christian Schools and I am so glad I get to share it with you!

Welcome back to another amazing school year! I am so excited to work alongside you, for your students, and to assist you by answering all of your questions!  This is my second year working at Heritage and I love it!  When I started working last year, as an aide, I had no idea where God would be leading me!  It’s amazing to see God work through this school and these kids.  Because of working at the front desk, I am able to interact with many of the parents and students and am so blessed that my position allows for that!  As an alumni of Heritage, it is so exciting to be on the flip side of things and work for a school that impacted me while growing up! I love this school.  I love your students.  And I can’t wait to see what God will do through this next school year.
